GREAT question. I embedded their sign up link on my own blog (sethw.xyz), and I've seen that done on SquareSpace set ups. I loathe pop ups, but I know they WORK. BUT.... you can also use something that DOES pop up and capture emails, in whatever system. THEN, once a week export those, and import into Substack. A few extra steps, but it might get you more signups. Definitely something to test out!

I've been wondering what to do with the emails from my shop cause they'r enot subscribing to Substack and Idk if it's legal to take those emails and put it in substack since they didn't explicitly sign up for substack but rather to get news of future products etc (which I announce via substack) lol. So Idk if thats another way I should go about it.
I'll look into the embedded link. Right now I just have newsletter and when people click on it it takes them to substack.
TheyтАЩre not signing up for Substack anymore than theyтАЩre signing up for Mailchimp - theyтАЩre signing up for updates, and thatтАЩs what youтАЩd be sending with Substack! If they donтАЩt wanna get those updates (whether you send via Substack or Klaviyo, etc) then theyтАЩll unsubscribe!
I also have this link:
https://temicoker.co/links
so it gives them an option to go to my shop, newsletter , website etc
