SPEAKER 1
Hello, it's your friend Seth. This is Social Media Escape Club, and I'm talking about another email that I like. This email was sent in by my buddy Bill. Hi Bill, I think you'll enjoy this. Now, we're starting out on the brand's Instagram. Alright, now I just want to show you here.

This is for Tapehead City, their online store. For cassettes. Cool stuff. So I want you to see this here. Okay, little Gumby action. All right. And note this. Okay, that some of these images of tapes, as you would imagine. And now we're going to look at the actual email. Okay. Now look at this.

Look, this is a familiar email here, right? There's that. But it's also on their Instagram page. How could that be? That's a violation. No, it's not. Remember, a lot of people don't see the stuff that you post on Instagram. So reuse that stuff. Bit of text. Wait a second. Another bunch of cassettes here. Huh? Huh?

GOOD STUFF

Share the work of other artists and creative individuals in spaces like this.

“The money produced by art has not disappeared … the reality is that the people with the most money have devised, at every turn, new and more bulletproof ways for them to make and keep more money, and for the people who make things to make less.”

From Kelsey McKinney at Defector

“On Spotify, I can’t reach the people who follow me—I have no idea who those people are, and I can’t communicate with them. I’m just on a playlist or an algorithm. But here on Substack, I’m cultivating a community.”

From Fogchaser (here) at ‘Starting from scratch: advice on building a career and finding an audience on Substack

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: We don’t need more stuff, we need better stuff.”

I love replying to intriguing online queries about Substack, online marketing, writing, and more. Rather than put these videos on YouTube, I'm hosting them here. Enjoy.
