Love it, Seth! I love going to the Farmers' Market in the summer and wandering around chatting and looking at all the produce and products and, because I am a maker, it feels like warm welcoming waves of possibility! Look at those tomatoes, and I see pissaladière, or greek salad, or the greens against the purples of the eggplants! That's kinda what this post feels like, all those luscious possibilities to try! I can't do it all, but that's not the point, it's the jumping in and splashing about, playing with the possibilities that feel right.
I really like the idea of a mini newsfeed on my site. I’ve been thinking of doing something similar to share behind the scenes type shots of my design projects and studio news that I might have posted on Instagram in the past. Thanks for the suggestions, great article!
Thanks for these ideas Seth. We have an idea brewing that I hope we can bring to reality in the coming months. I would absolutely love to see Tarantino do theater! You just know it would be something special.
OMG I just started talking about the “make your own Twitter” at the end of 2024 when my day job started planning for a new website. I told our designer that I’m looking for microblogging on the home page and a removal of social icons at the headers or footers of the site. People look at me like I’m crazy, but I love this idea.
Heck yes!!! Stop sending people to where you can't reach them! And definitely check out that "micronews" feed. It ain't pretty, but it does the job: https://micronews.debian.org/
Thank for featuring my post and recommending Art & Life Stirred Vigorously, Seth!
But how do you technically create your own "Twitter"?
Have a website. Have a blog. Post to it like you would Twitter!
i hope there's a ripple effect of 'micronews-ing.' will the About page zoom be recorded if we can't make the live?
Yes, it’ll be recorded, but please register so I know who to send it to!
in there! thanks. if work's slow i hope to join live
Oh, I hear you! Thank you!!!
awh opening this email and seeing my picture was a treat!
i made a little microblog on my neocities website. i love seeing the way that other people do it,
doqmeat.com is one of my fav neocities sites atm: https://doqmeat.com/microblog/
Very interested in the idea of my own social media feed. My favorite part about Substack and the reason I will stick around here is Notes.
Would love to have this on my own site that I'm building as I'm a rather spontaneous thinker and sharer of thoughts.
