"Now imagine if all these pockets of culture and art and magic started organizing and working together."
I think this is the important bit. Many of us ARE building our own things, and have been for years, but we think we're alone or we're forced into competing with other groups (and nonprofits) for the tiny pot of money that's available locally. We need a way of sharing experiences and forging collaborations and few online platforms offer that because they're all about an individual becoming a 'leader' or 'influencer' and amassing a following. Discord may work I guess. We need to start thinking and building collectively.
So a question back to you. How could the groups here on Substack start working together instead of trying to build their own worlds?
The Wolf Criers Club is a neat communal publication - it's led up by the wonderful Kato McNickle, who started some Zoom calls with fellow artists that were doing an online art class together.
They're figuring out and learning how to make this group newsletter work NOW, so when they someday have some actual published books to release into the world, they'll have a nice space to do it in!
Making stuff, and sharing stuff for the fun of it is under-rated. Thankful that the penny finally dropped for me, and many thanks to you for helping us connect the dots.

Hope you feel better soon.

All. Of. This!
Well said!
yurp!
In Spain we say "applause with the ears" when we want to express an absolute alignment with an idea. Brilliantly put, thank you so much for this.
Oh my, you are very welcome! Thank you so much!
