Oh, absolutely! I do the same, which was the basis of HEAVY METAL EMAIL in the first place. Not saying burn all of social media down (they're doing a good enough job on their own), but we can't build our entire existence on platforms we don't own.
I send out an email to my list every day. Writing every day has made me so much better at email marketing.

Good advice as always! The cassette thing in particular is wild right now - they're up to like $12 a tape sometimes!
Hard times for bands and labels! I'm sure $10 CDs will soon be a thing of the past, too.
