Here are some ways to support HEAVY METAL EMAIL:
Become a paid subscriber - $6/mo, or $60/yr (and probably a tax write off, eh?)
NEW: Hire me as your Heavy Metal Email coach
Buy me a coffee via Ko-Fi, Venmo (@Seth-Werkheiser), Cash App ($ethwerkheiser), or PayPal
Support bands & labels and buy me something from my Bandcamp Wishlist
If you’re discouraged with your reach on Twitter, don’t get bummed. For example, Hatebreed posted this on Twitter on March 19th:
This post got 59,700 views.
Hatebreed has 276,400 followers.
That means the post reached 21.5% of their followers.
And that means 78.5% of their followers didn’t even see it.
Also, the link is for the store’s front page, so it takes three clicks to find the actual shirt.
Now, (AHEM) Mr. Jasta and the Hatebreed machine will be okay, I’m sure. I’m not at all worried about that operation!
But, I want to use this to illustrate a point for the folks that aren’t quiet operating at Hatebreed’s epic scale:
IF YOU’RE ONLY REACHING AROUND 10% OF YOUR FANS, HAVE A CLEAR CALL TO ACTION
Make damn sure you link directly to the thing you’re promoting:
Link directly to the tour section of your website, so people can buy tickets
Link directly to the limited edition shirt in your store
Link directly to a landing page, telling people what they’ll get when they subscribe to your newsletter
Every click on the internet is a battle.
Amazon filed the patent for “1-Click” in 1999 for a reason.
The more you make someone click, the fewer people will actually do the thing you want.
BONUS
I made an email campaign mock-up for this shirt that you can use as inspiration.
A subject line: HATEBREED "BRODY DIVE" SHIRT
A preview: Pre-order now, ships in April
B subject line: Limited edition “Brody Dive” Hatebreed shirt available for pre-order
B preview: “Life is hard, be harder”

If you haven’t seen the infamous “Brody Dive,” let’s get you caught up:
Brody King is the vocalist in God’s Hate, and they played Sound and Fury festival in July 2022. Rebecca Lader (according to The Pit) took this epic photo:
Now you can celebrate the moment for years to come with this limited edition HATEBREED "BRODY DIVE" SHIRT, available now for pre-order in the Martyr Store.
That’s it for today, friends. Happy Monday.
BTW, I’m killing ANTISOCIAL. Everyone gets three full emails per week now.
Linking to the social media horror stories gets depressing, and I’d rather try to help everyone sell a few more goodies each week.
So go buy that Hatebreed shirt, and if you wanna dig deeper hire me as your heavy metal email coach.
Write me, fight me.
